Dilophosaurus 3D skeleton

My 3D skeletal reconstruction of Dilophosaurus. Remember that as with my other skeleton models, this is something of an "idealised" representation. Mostly based on (and scaled to) the holotype (UCMP 37302), but incorporating information from the paratype (UCMP 37303) and UCMP 77270 for the skull and jaws.

Dilophosaurus is a slinky weirdo - it has a very long torso, which would have made it more front heavy than many other bipedal dinosaurs. This is why I've illustrated it with a somewhat flexed hindlimb - this posture would bring the foot and knee below the centre of mass, which is essential for static stability.

You might have noticed a bit of a focus on skeleton models recently - that's because a bunch of my skeleton work (including this Dilophosaurus) will feature in the upcoming indie horror platformer "Terrible Lizards", which is set at a dinosaur-themed Route 66 roadside attraction: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2920220/Terrible_Lizards/.
